What is Block Kids?
Developed by the NAWIC Education Foundation (NEF), and administered by NAWIC chapters around the country, Block Kids is designed to introduce children (K-6th Grade) to the construction industry and promote interest in future careers in Construction.
Each participant will be asked to create something construction related without adult help or guidance using approved materials. They will be given 75-100 building blocks in various sizes. They may also use up to three of the following items when provided by each chapter: small rock, string, foil, construction paper.
All participants are given 40-60 minutes to complete the project.
The winner of the local competition advances on to the Midwest Regional competition, with a potential to be entered into the National competition.
